The Mckenzie-Wilahemett hospital had not noticed anything unusual on that very warm night in Oregon. Until a woman in a red Nissan car pulled up to the curb with the startling words,"Somebody just shot my kids!" The nurses rushed to the young mothers aide and looked down in horror towards the three young children. Not knowing what age or the names of any of the children were the least of their problems. They picked the two children in the back seat up and rushed them inside. But one child was laying unnoticed in the front seat. Her name was Cheryl Lynn. She was a small little blonde girl who had always been neglected by her ruthless mother Diane and now her she lay in peril, suffering...dead. The little was beyond help it was clear God's angels had already taken her away. Diane shrieked when she noticed that the nurses had forgotten about her third child Cheryl. "Cher," She stammer,"Get Cheryl!" She finally let out. Shelby finally realized the lifeless child in the front who appeared to her as delicate and waiflike. She couldn't have been over the age of 7.  Shelby lifted the little girl up into her arms. Rushing her into the hospital hoping she was still able to help her. Unfortunately she wasn't. Cheryl Lynn was DOA(dead on arrival). She died May 19,1983 at the young age of 7 years. Her sister Christie(8) and brother Danny(3) still have a fighting chance even though Danny was at risk of becoming a paraplegic it didn't matter as long as he lived. He did and so did Christie. Diane had kept her charade going but not for long. She was later tried and convicted of murder and was sentenced to life in prison. This would not have been if it weren't for Christie Downs who testified against her mother saying it was her who had shot her,Cheryl and Danny not a imaginary bush haired stranger. Today Diane is still in Prison and we all hope she stays in their along time for her heartless crime. All for the love of a man who was married and in love with his wife. He had a brief affair with Diane but the woman had become clingy and unrealistic in the relationship. He didn't wanna be a daddy and that is the main reason why Diane shot and killed 1 of 3 of her children. We will remember you for always Cheri, you are missed ;)
